Our sheep are Hebridean sheep, a rare breed which, as the name suggests, originates from the Hebridees in Scotland. This makes them a hardy breed as they are used to living on wild moorland and coastland and looking after themselves.
They have three paddocks in our field and they rotate from one to another, doing a good job of keeping the grass down.
We have three breeding ewes who usually have twin lambs each year. The meat is quite dark and rich in flavour.
We scythe our own hay to feed them through the winter.
